Provides major critical repairs to low-income special needs, disabled, and aged 60+ Rutherford County homeowners to make homes more accessible and safer.

Eligible Critical Services

  • Roof repairs or replacements
  • Ramps  accessibility needs
  • Limited HVAC repair
  • Plumbing
  • Limited flooring repairs
  • Walk In Shower Installations
  • Weatherization

All repairs are subject to a home evaluation approval and available funding. Our Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative (NRI) program does not address painting, home upgrades, or cosmetic repairs. We cannot do repairs on mobile homes, condos, townhomes, or rental properties.

Applying for Critical Repair

The full application process can take approximately 3 to 6 months.

Must be low-income, special needs, disabled and aged 60+ homeowners.

Must be a single-family, detached home. No mobile homes, townhomes, condos, or rental properties.

Homeowners must occupy the home as their primary residence.

Homes must be in Rutherford County.

Income must not exceed 60% of the MRB Income Limit for Rutherford County.

2026 Rutherford County Household MRB Limits

1-2 people- $82,656.00

3+ people-   $96,432.00

To determine income eligibility

Divide your “Total Household Income” by the “MRB Income Limit” to determine the percentage. Percentages over 60% are not eligible.

Critical repairs can take up to 12 months from time of application to completed repair.  This is a first-come, first-served homeowner program. Until funding is available, homeowners will be placed on a waiting list.
